Notre Dame Football strikes more emotional chords than the Bears for sure, and both can still have an effect on my weekend even after all "these years". Monday Night Football is the best of times and the worst of times due to the extra 36 hours tacked on from the normal Sunday noon kickoff....whatever that means.
Now, I do not get nearly as emotional as I did "back in the day". Real life has shown me the outcome of a sporting event is a blip on the radar on life's timeline. However, simple pleasures and wins are always better than disappointments and losses.
With 2 games under their belt, I worry a bit about the Irish. I see at least 4 losses in their future and I hope one of them is not the coach. We shall see. Pray to Joe Pesci for the best, but expect the worst.
The Bears? A possible playoff birth and dare I say even a trip to the Big Game. But a week secondary will most likely take them in as a Wild Card with an early loss in the playoffs to the Packers or the 49ers.
But I digress...whatever that means. For now I will enjoy my cold beer, bask in my first 2 win weekend of the season and thank Joe Pesci I am not an Illinois Alum (aka All Time Loser).
